How You Can Easily Hide Your Spare House Key In Your Yard

If you take the tie to make sure that you are hiding your spare house key in the perfect spot outside, you will never have to worry about being locked out of your house again. To help get your pointed in the right direction, you might want to take a few moments to read through the following suggestions.

Under A Brick

If you use bricks to line a flower bed or to outline a pretty tree in your yard, you can use one of the bricks to hide your spare house key. Simply pick one of the bricks and glue a mini envelop to the bottom of it so it will stay in place but where you can still place something it in. You will need to use an industrial glue in order to ensure that it does not come off of the brick.

Then, you will want to wrap the key in plastic wrap so it will be protected from moisture, as moisture could cause the key to rust. Slide the wrapped key into the envelope and place the brick back in line with the rest of the bricks, while making sure that the envelope is facing down so it is out of sight. You might want to carefully mark the brick with a cute decoration painted on it or by setting a small statue in front or behind it. This way, when you go to retrieve your spare house key, you will be able to easily find the brick that has the key under it.

Hidden In The Flower Bed Soil

This is a great spot to hide your spare key for the house because it is unlikely that a criminal is going to just start digging through your flower bed in hopes that he or she will stumble across a spare key. A good way to hide the key in the soil is to place it in a small container, such as a medication bottle with a lid. You will want to make sure that you  are burying it just enough so it is covered and then covering that spot with a decorative rock or statue that you will be able to remember as the marker for the location of the key.

About Me

picking a safe for your home

One of the best things I ever did was becoming an independent jewelry consultant. I get to collect beautiful pieces, entertain friends and family and earn a living while doing it. One thing that the company recommended that I do was to invest in a safe to store my inventory to protect it from potential burglars. I started learning about the different types of safes to find the one that would be best for what I needed it for. I have compiled everything that I learned about picking and choosing a safe for my home right here on my blog.
